Background
Neighborhood Barre is the fourth core franchise brand operated by Extraordinary Brands — the company that acquired three divested Xponential Fitness concepts (CycleBar, Rumble Boxing, Row House) beginning in 2023. Founded in 2011 by Katy Richardson (now EB COO), Neighborhood Barre operates approximately 23 studio locations and was acquired by Extraordinary Brands in 2024. Richardson's dual role as both founder of the acquired brand and operational COO of the acquirer is notable — she built the brand, then moved to the corporate level of the entity that now governs it. Neighborhood Barre is the clearest lineage in the EB portfolio: founded, grown, and now managed inside the same operational leadership layer.
This brand was divested from Xponential Fitness Inc. in 2025 as part of CEO Mike Nuzzo's "Focus on the Core" restructuring. The divestiture removed it from XPO's public performance reporting — but documented franchise owner harm from the XPO ownership period remains legally unresolved.
Divested brands continue operating under many of the same vendor ecosystems and support structures tied to Xponential's infrastructure.
